So grab a cup of tea or coffee and get comfy, because this is Time for Tea with Makita, and the tea is definitely hot. Welcome back. It is definitely time for some tea and I'm your host. Makita, thank you so much for sharing your time, your space and your amazing energy with me today. Today, we're diving into the topic of self expression and how it can help us feel more alive, connected and true to ourselves, as someone who used to be shy and hesitant to share my authentic self, i know firsthand how powerful self expression can be. So what is self expression? Well, it's all about finding your voice and sharing it with the world in your unique way. It's about embracing your quirks, passions and perspectives and celebrating what makes you well, what makes you you. And trust me, there's no one quite like you. For years, i struggled with being true to myself and expressing my ideas and my values authentically. I was afraid of being judged or rejected, so I kept my thoughts and opinions to myself, and eventually I realized that by doing this, i was denying myself my own power. So one day I decided to take a chance and share my ideas with a group of friends, and guess what They loved what I had to say and even more than that, they were so inspired by it as well. That moment was my turning point. It showed me that when we tap into our authentic selves and express ourselves bravely, we can create real connections and positives changes in the world. Will it always be easy? No, well, everyone always want to hear what we have to say and think that what we say is great and amazing. Probably not One of the things that really got me to this moment that I was okay with public speaking and saying. You know, what was on my mind was I was listening to this speaker. The one thing that they said that really stuck out to me was that every time that they went on stage, they knew that at least one person in that room would walk away and say that they didn't like them. Like automatically, as soon as they got up on the stage, someone would see them and not like them before they even open their mouth, and I was like how is that possible? But that's just how it is. Not everyone is going to like you. Not everyone is going to like what you have to say. But it doesn't mean that you should stop expressing yourself or using your voice in a way that is true to who you are. So you have to keep showing up. You have to lean into self-expression and embrace your individuality. Now I have a few tips that'll help you on that journey of leaning into that and embracing everything that makes you uniquely you. So, first, lego of perfectionism and embrace all of your perfections. You're not meant to be perfect. Your quirks and your flaws are what make you unique, so don't be afraid to share them. I am the most clumsy person ever. If it can be dropped, it's guaranteed it's gonna happen. I'm gonna do it at least once or twice throughout the day, sometimes more than that, but you know what It's life? It's life and it happens, and I just accept it. Second, find your creative outlet that brings you joy and fulfillment. Whether that's painting, writing, dancing or something else, find something that lets you express yourself authentically. Not only do I just love podcasting, i love to write. Writing is a great way for me to just put my feelings and my creativeness out there. But another thing that I love to do is I love to create. I love creating digital content. I never thought that would be something that I would love to do, because I'm really not the artsy type of person, but I've found so much joy and fun that I could literally sit all day and just create All right. Third, practice self-care and reflection regularly. When we are stressed or burnt out, it's hard to tap into our creative energy, so make sure that you are taking time for yourself each day to recharge and reconnect with your inner self. This is a must. You have to do this, even if it's just for two minutes of just sitting in silence and taking some deep breaths. I don't care if you have to sit in your car after work just to get that quiet and alone time, or sneak to the bathroom and act like you know you're taking a shower. Take a moment, take some time to self-reflect and reconnect with you. Your batteries have to be recharged. Fourth, surround yourself with supportive people who appreciate and celebrate your unique voice. Having a community of like-minded individuals can make all the difference when it comes to expressing yourself confidently and authentically, and this is so, so, so true. Community is everything, and having the people around you that believe in you, that have a positive attitude and that gets you all your unique things, that make you, you know, so funny, that makes you so unique Those are the people that you want to be around. As Oprah Winfrey once said, the greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude, and that is something that we all want to adopt A positive attitude towards self-expression and embracing our individuality, and with that we can create a brighter and more fulfilling future for ourselves and those around us. All right, you guys, thank you for joining me today, and I hope that these tips have inspired you to lean into self-expression and embrace your unique voice. Now don't forget to sign up for my newsletter so we can stay more connected and you can get even more tips and great resources delivered straight into your inbox. All right, that is all the tea that I have, but guess what? Join me each and every Tuesday for some more delicious hot tea. Until next time, namaste MUSIC.
