Speaker 1:

But I'm telling you now, stand up, toss this. Stand up, reclaim your voice, reclaim who you are and never doubt that passion. Never think that you're too much. You know we have this thing of people saying you know you're too loud, you're too boisterous, you brag too much, you do too much. No, that is just all a part of you using your voice, and sometimes you using your voice and you standing up, being your authentic self makes some people nervous.

Speaker 1:

Hey, there, i'm Makita, a small town girl with dreams who started a podcast with an old headset and a laptop at my kitchen table and made my dreams come true. On my podcast, time for Tea with Makita, we chat about living life unapologetically, on your terms, from career advice, entrepreneurship, relationships and everything in between. This is your one-stop shop for real conversations and inspiration. If you're looking for connection, then you found it here. Join me every Tuesday as we dive into those sometimes hard to have conversations. So grab a cup of tea or coffee and get comfy, because this is Time for Tea with Makita and the tea is definitely hot. Come back, it is definitely time for some tea, and I am Makita. First of all, thank you so much for sharing your time, your space and your amazing energy with me today. I hope you are in a place of feeling joy, abundance, love and so much happiness as I am.

Speaker 1:

As you know, i have talked a lot about being intentional, and that was my number one theme as I moved into this new year of 2023 was to show up being my intentional self and living life to the fullest and appreciating every moment. The one thing about being intentional is that I really get to think about how I want to spend my time and who I want to spend my time with And, with that being said, as I move into this warmer weather, i am really looking forward to spending more time with my husband, with my kids, with my mom and my siblings. So I will be taking a little break from podcasting, but I will be sharing some of my favorite episodes that have left me feeling so motivated, so encouraged, so just full of myself that I know that I could take it to the next level, and I want to take those amazing parts of that and bring them to you to keep you inspired throughout the summer. Now I will be back and I will be bringing you tons of energy and tons of amazing stories, with more amazing people that want to inspire you, that have created their own blueprint to life and success, just like you're doing right now. And as we talk about moving into this new season of living intentionally and just learning how to flow, one of the things that me and my husband are going to be doing is taking a much needed vacation, and I will share more with you on that as we go. If you follow me on my social media handles, you will definitely be seeing all of the ins and outs of what I'm up to this summer, and if you're not already tuned in, you need to definitely go over to my website, beautifullyunbalancedcom, and really get connected there, because there are so many amazing free resources for you, as well, as you can get my weekly dose of self-care fuel straight to your inbox to give you motivation each and every week to keep you going, to keep you fueled.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes we need a little push and a little reminder that we need to take time out for ourselves. Now you know I'm all about redefining what self-care looks like, and definitely what it feels like. So for me, self-care looks like taking a break when I need a break. It looks like taking a nap when I get tired and not trying to force myself to do things when my head is not in the space to do it. Self-care also looks like me living my purpose, doing the things that matter to me and being intentional about how I show up in the spaces that I choose to be in.

Speaker 1:

I want you to think about what self-care looks like for you in this moment. It could look like deciding to go back to school, to finish in that degree, to switching jobs and truly following that passion, going for the things that you love. Or your self-care could be more about getting moving, being more active, thinking about what we're putting into our bodies and really taking care of ourselves. It could also mean that you are ready to get into a better or more healthier relationship, whether that's romantically or with friends. It can look and be anything that you want it to be. So redefine that as you go throughout your journey And remember it can change from day to day.

Speaker 1:

Your needs are never going to be the same from day in and day out, or three months ago. The things that I needed six months ago are definitely not the things that I need right now. We are all on this journey in this thing called life And the one thing that we have to remember is to keep showing up each and every day as our authentic self. Now, finding our voice sometimes can be hard. We're in this big sea of being bombarded by so many different things that it's easy to get lost and let our voice get drowned out.

Speaker 1:

But I'm telling you now, stand up, toss this. Stand up, reclaim your voice, reclaim who you are and never doubt that passion. Never think that you're too much. We have this thing of people saying you're too loud, you're too boisterous, you brag too much, you do too much. No, that is just all a part of you using your voice, and sometimes you using your voice and you standing up, being your authentic self makes some people nervous because, guess what? They have held on and held back from showing who they are so much that they get a little nervous seeing someone as bold and audacious as you are showing up and taking up space. Be that person. You got this And you know what. I'm going to be cheering you on every step of the way, because I have really found that being who I am, loving every part of me, the little too much me, the quiet part of me, that me that is just so full of myself at different moments in my life, all of those things. As long as you're showing up and using your voice and that you're being truly 100 with yourself, that's the only thing that matters.

Speaker 1:

So I hope that, as you go into this new season of being you, of showing up and doing the things that you love, making some of those hard decisions, as you step out and take a step back, please allow yourself a moment to step back from everything, quiet the noise in our heads and really look inward. We can't see until we look inside. You have to look inside and be willing to see what's happening in here, what's happening in the heart, what's happening in the body, and as that transcends out, we open our eyes and then we get to decide how we want to make this world around us what we wanted to look like, how we wanted to feel. One thing I like to say is that anytime I invite someone into my home, it's sacred, right. So when, if you're inviting someone into your space, that's a sacred part of you. You're letting someone get a glimpse into who you are, into your world, into your thoughts, into your mind. They are getting a little bit of your energy. So be careful about what you're investing in, who you're investing in. Take a step back, quiet the noise and then step out and do what you do best, which is show up. All right Now, don't forget, i will be leaving you with lots and lots of self-fuel, lots and lots of tea, and I still want to connect with you.

Speaker 1:

So don't think that just because I'm taking a little break that you're not going to be able to connect with me. You know where to find me. Go over to my social media handles. I'm on Instagram at Makita Smith. I'm on Facebook as Makita Smith. You can definitely go to my website, connect, get those free resources.
